Dalglish Ready to Bid £12m for Leverkusen Star Midfielder

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is ready to test the resolve of Bayer Leverkusen by making a £12million offer for the German international in the January transfer window.

The Reds have been keeping a close eye on the midfielder over the past couple of months and have sent Director of Football, Damien Comolli, to watch him in action on a number of occasions.

Comolli has reportedly now recommended the 22-year-old to Dalglish and the club are ready to attempt to lure him away from Germany in the New Year. Liverpool's new policy of identifying the best young talent has seen them sign Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll, Sebastian Coates and Luis Suarez in the last 12 months and the club are keen to continue this policy with the acquisition of Bender. With Bender under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2014, Liverpool realise that they will have to make a significant offer and are ready to make a bid of £12million.
