Liverpool could reportedly use Joe Cole as bait in a bid to sign Lille playmaker Eden Hazard next summer.
Lille president Michel Seydoux this week admitted he has been impressed by Cole and could look to make his loan deal a permanent one next summer.
Liverpool have also shown interest in the highly-rated Belgium international and the club's director of football, Damien Comolli, back in September dismissed reports claiming the Merseyside club had a first refusal option on the midfielder.
Liverpool remain keen on Hazard, however, and according to the Daily Star, Comolli and Kenny Dalglish could use Cole as a bargaining chip in a bid to lure Hazard to Anfield.
