Liverpool are thought to be making a shock bid for Everton’s Leighton Baines as they look to bolster their defence.
Whilst Liverpool have already purchased Jose Enrique this season, however it is rumoured that Manager Kenny Dalglish is a fan of the England left-back and could take advantage of his merseyside rival’s financial situation and launch a bid in January that could see an even bigger rivalry emerge if the move was to happen.
Baines has been the stand-out performer for Everton since his move from Wigan Athletic in 2007 and has forced his way into the England senior set up on 5 occasions, earning rave reviews from Fabio Capello and England fans who see him as the natural successor to Ashley Cole, his form for Everton has been noticed in Germany as Bayern Munich had an approach rejected last summer.
Its not known whether Baines would make the move to Liverpool however if a bid large enough were to be received then Everton who are been pressured by their Bank would reluctantly listen.
