With the end of one year, and the beginning of another, drawing ever closer January's transfer window and the increased speculation that it brings is looming. More rumours are starting to filter through now with rumour having it that Liverpool are keen on Alberto Gilardino, not that his agent says that he has anything other on his mind than playing for Fiorentina, as Beppe Bozzo explained to calciomercato.it:'Alberto is recovering from injury and currently has only one thought - to do well in the Fiorentina jersey and please the fans with many goals.'
I rarely believe much of what agents say so I'd expect that a genuine offer from Liverpool would see the Italian more than a little interested in a move to the Premier League, more so if the money he was on was improved for both him and his agent!
In four seasons with the Italian side the 29 year old has managed almost 60 goals, meaning the Italian international doesn't have the worst strike record in the world however there could be better? We could still do with another striker in January however at his age, and for what Fiorentina would be looking for, in my honest opinion we'll be looking elsewhere.
